Uģis Prauliņš was one of my favorite composers, and I didn’t even know it. I had met him but it took a few years before realized that he composed “Paganu Gadagrāmata“, one of my favorite CDs. During one visit he mentioned that he needed a cardigan, and even tried on an “Annie”. I used the occasion of his birthday concert to design and knit a cardigan just for him. Thus the “Symphony” was born.
You can close it with either side in front, changing the color. Uģis tends to wear black in winter and white in summer, so it seemed to make sense to have one front panel light and one dark. During our photo session everyone looked good in several different sizes, so you can pick a slim fit or an oversize look if you want.
I live surrounded by nature, my dream come true! After 11 years of living in a loft in Rīga center, I finally found a house in the countryside near where my grandfather was born, or rather... my house found me. I am where I belong.
I am knitting collections inspired by the amazing colors I see around me. You can't make it up, nature really does it best and my knitting as art lets me see, really see the incredible, breathtaking color compositions out there. Please join me on my journey.
