One stork returned March 25. Latvia’s storks winter in Africa and they mate for life and his/her better half showed up a week or so later. March 25 is also the name day celebration for all women called Māra, which in Latvia is the name for mother earth. A very appropriate day to return to the nest.
The colors of the stork are just so stylish, a bit like a bird in a tuxedo. Charcoal grey black, red orange and pearly white. I knit this in their honor, something to keep you warm and classy in a chilly concert hall.
This style works forwards and backwards. This one is an S/XS, so if you would like something a bit bigger, just let me know.
***If you want this in all cotton please let me know and I will do a custom order for you.***
I live surrounded by nature, my dream come true! After 11 years of living in a loft in Rīga center, I finally found a house in the countryside near where my grandfather was born, or rather... my house found me. I am where I belong.
I am knitting collections inspired by the amazing colors I see around me. You can't make it up, nature really does it best and my knitting as art lets me see, really see the incredible, breathtaking color compositions out there. Please join me on my journey.
